What is a VPS/VDS? - Virtual Private server or Virtual Dedicated Server is a method to split a physical server into many smaller independent logical servers. Each seperate virtual server can run it's own operating system and be independently rebooted, reinstalled, or even firewalled. The Host node is responsible for maintaining the virtual links to the physical disk, ram, and cpu resources.
What can I run on a VPS/VDS? - You can run anything that you normally would run on a specified operating system of the virtual machine as you would of a normal dedicated server. The main difference is that on a Shared Kernel system (OpenVZ), you would not be able to update the kernel, unless the kernel was updated for the entire node it's self. On a non-shared system (Xen/Vmware/Hypervisor) your server is completely independent and has full access to it's own slice of resources that it will always have and allow you to make any changes as if it was a true dedicated server.
What type of suppot is offered with a VPS/VDS account. - We offer unlimited email and web based support for our VDS/VPS services. While 99% of the tasks that may need intervention can be handled by the end-user with our hyperVM panel, we understand that their may be times when you need our help to fix an issue. We are a small shop of seasoned professionals with lots of experience in the virtualization game. We work 24/7 to help answer any questions you may have about your service.

You will receive a warning email as you approach the limit. Simply contact us to upgrade your package, or stay under the limit until the limits are reset on the 2nd of each month. |
Cost of reinstalls? reboots? firewall resets? - While we offer only unmanaged servers at this time, we will be happy to assist you where we are able to do so. Reboots, reinstalls, firewall editing, and even password resets, can be accomplished via the HyperVM control panel for Most Operating Systems by the user themselves. This is an independent panel outside of the Virtual Server that allows you to control many server type functions as if you were physically at the server.

Static IPs? How many can we have? - Each server comes with 3 static ips. That's enough for 2 nameserver ips and a primary web ip address. If you need more IPs we will be able to offer them to you at $0.75/month.

Do you offer DDOS protection? - Currently you are limited to DDOS protection from building and maintaining your own firewall rules on the virtual server.
Does your VPS/VDS have KVM/IP ability? - Yes, our VPS/VDS can be access as if you were locally at the server via a KVM/IP service that is integrated within our HyperVM panel system for OpenVZ servers, or via VNC Service for Xen based servers. You can also ssh to the host node using your hypervm login/pass which will put you in console mode on your virtual server. This is a great way to fix firewall, or patch issues that may lock you out of the VPS/VDS.
What does the Traffic Bandwidth mean? - Traffic to and from the server are added up in terms of megabytes, gigabytes etc. For instance, approximate 333gb of bandwidth would mean that you were downloading/uploading at 1megabits/second constantly 24/7, for an entire month (30days). that would yield traffic usage of 333gb. If your server was doing 5megabits/second constantly 24/7 for an entire month, that would yield approximately 1500gb of traffic.

How do I configure Reverse DNS? - Reverse DNS can be automatically changed by the user via the HyperVM control panel system for each ip address.
Can I run a proxy site from your virtual server? - Proxy sites are allowed to be run unless we determine it to be detrimental to the server or network inwhich time it will need to be removed from our network asap.
